Team Rosesquad News #2 - Patch Notes 1.3, Minecraft Server and More!

Hello everyone! I hope all is doing well during this freezing weather (at least here in the east coast) and enjoying the end of their exams! There's a lot to cover for this news post, including the website patch notes, the return of our FTB Ultimate Minecraft Server and more major additions to the team. There are a huge number of new features to our news posts, so make an effort to read it all the way through!

GENERAL NEWS

We have some crazy news to tell everyone: Our League of Legends team has returned! It was set inactive when many members (including myself) decided to call it a day or simply uninstalled the game to focus on other things. However, after a revival on the dawn of Season V, the entire squad decided to come back and aim for greater heights. We all joined a non-Team Rosesquad member's ranked team for a warm-up Ranked 5v5 match and won an intense match against... Iowa State University. More details on the event can be found here. We would like to welcome back two members who have been inactive from the group for a long time. Gaurav the swag master and the basketball wonderkid Vincent Banisa have finally returned! Gaurav has solved his computer problems and Vince ended his quest for thirst. Now they expect to reach greater heights after their remarkable comeback.

PATCH NOTES 1.3

Alright folks,

It's the moment you have been waiting for. We decided that it would be reasonable to push out updates to our website in bundles, or in other words, patches. There's a lot to cover in this month's patch, since it was all built up since the previous year. The website underwent heavy changes since the last couple edits that were applied. In this patch, we've cleaned up bugs and consistent grammar errors (some of which still exist) and updated several information about us, because things have changed-- for the better.

RUNDOWN:

- New Emblem

- New Member! - Website Cleanup

- Credits Page

NEW EMBLEM

"We've been having trouble deciding over choosing a new icon or keeping what we have, but here it is!"

We hope you guys like it, but all appreciation should be given to Mady!

Many thanks for giving us a new emblem for the 2015 season! It looks

truly abstract and detailed, and will hopefully strike a chord with you guys as well.

NEW MEMBER! "The rumors are true; we do have a new member!"

Hailing from California, The Lamp Is A Spy, a.k.a. Mario Johnson is our latest addition to Team Rosesquad. After a blowout performance in a competitive Counter-Strike match, we decided to add him to our contact list for future events. He began to take interest in our group, and after some long talks, he accepted to join us! He has hobbies in video games and visual art, and will (hopefully) join us in our next Team Skype Conference! - (More details about this later)

Also... Happy belated birthday Mario!

WEBSITE CLEANUP

"There has been a lot of grammar errors and outdated information. We've made an effort to make some changes!"

Due to the fact that we have a new member and reformed priorities for the team, there have been many changes throughout the site, including the change of personal bios, and updated information on several pages. Some areas had background pages changed, in order to make the site look more fresh. We've also added Nether Guardian's bio page, filled with his social network pages. For the rest of the members, we unfortunately could not finish them up before this month's release patch. They will probably be finished by the next patch. (fingers crossed) We've also removed the forums for now. It was never really implemented as a strong feature, and was also an untested part of the site despite the long process to put it together. It will return soon, but indefinitely. We've also removed the League of Legends Statistics page in order to keep our team plans a secret. If any member wants to access it, we will discuss about it in the upcoming Skype Conference.

CREDITS PAGE

"We are really fond of the concept of respect, so we want to give credits to everyone's input in the creation of Team Rosesquad."

This is a brand-spanking-new page with a list of roles and random credits that we want to respect. This will also list citations containing the real owners of several of our borrowed content from outside the group.

This concludes the notes for Patch 1.3. We hope you like the site so far! There are even more content that we want to push out for the site, but we all have been busy, so bear with us!

MINECRAFT SERVER

IT. IS. BACK. Our FTB Ultimate Minecraft Server has returned! The server is run by the amazing Oneyear, who is hosting the server for us. It is unknown how much we can hold in this server, but my memory tells me that we had six people at the same time without any instances with lag. This server has a lot in it, with lots of stories and histories inside. Help us expand and put in your creative ideas in the vast land of Oneyearland! (or be enslaved to work on the Furnace Tower)

If you want to join us, make sure you have Feed the Beast downloaded and pick the correct mod pack - FTB Ultimate: Minecraft 1.4.7. I've experienced many problems getting this to work, hopefully it is different for anyone else, but if you are interested, ask Oneyear! P.S. The Great Wither War. Never Forget. Oh, and big thanks to Oneyear!

COMMUNITY SHOWCASE

This is a new feature for each newsletter that displays a "month in review" as we present the group's finest moments of the month! Whether it's a video, visual art or music, this section will put up several outstanding feats.

Gaurav's Leona Pentakill (posted by Oneyear)

Alureon a.k.a. Gaurav made a mark on his return back to Leauge of Legends. Breaking the meta by picking AD Leona for the Top Lane role was a big risk, but he made the most of it. The opposition was completely taken off guard and then this happened. Great work team!

Michael's Shaco Plays

From the very start of the video, you knew that things were going down. Michael's (frustrating) return starts off with his clever tactics in this Ranked 5v5 warmup. Shaco is a rather annoying champ to use, but the plays that Shaco can provide is remarkable. From jukes to high levels of damage, Shaco is a fundamental champion. You can watch part one here.

Although this may not be my own work, I would like to share a remix of one of my own songs. This remix was created by SoundCloud user Ikaros, who reached out to me and asked me to do a collab with him. That sparked my interest, but at the time I had no equipment to record music with. Instead, we agreed on the remix of this song, which was released at the start of 2015. Big thanks to Ikaros!

Want your content to be featured on our community showcase? Send me a message on Skype! (Yui Kiriyama)

MEMBER OF THE MONTH

Another new feature to our news posts is the Member of the Month. To earn this achievement, a person must display a dedicated attitude and provide a great amount of support and input to the group. Another way to grab the title is to show outstanding achievement in a game, or simply become a driving force in one of our teams. This may change over the course of time, but these are fine examples to start with. The Member of the Month title for January goes to AlphaTechnical. Despite being a relatively new member to our group, he has shown immense interest in making the community grow, pushing me to bring in our newest member, finding contacts to create our new emblem, and grabbing people together to play Counter-Strike. Thank you for your contributions and I hope you continue your dedication to the group.

CLOSING NOTES

With the resurgence of the Leauge of Legends team, return of several members and the addition of our new member, I strongly believe that the group has special projects in store to show off in the future. It will take some time for us to get things together, since we've been pushing out more content as time passes. We will have our second Team Skype Conference (hopefully) on January 31, 2015. It will probably take place around 9PM-11PM EST. If you are simply interested in Team Rosesquad, you are welcome to join us in our (un)professional meeting as we discuss future plans, role distributions and other great ideas and concepts. I hope I will see you all there!

Yours truly,

Yui Kiriyama, Team Rosesquad Leader
