HIATUS NOTICE

For the past two years, Team Rosesquad has grown to become something that I did not expect it to be when the name first formed. I was (and still am) astonished at the fact that it has lasted so long. What started off as a simple joke became a reformation of old friends and reformation of a group of gamers. After months of continuous gaming and spread of friendly Skype calls, it has become what it is today.

The act of adding friends of friends and continuing the trend literally translates to the embodiment of Team Rosesquad-- the vibrant community built from various games and mutual friends. If it wasn't for that, I am pretty sure we all wouldn't have all met. However, I took Team Rosesquad very seriously, as I attempted to build a stronghold of new ideas and sharing them with the world. I guess you can say I was not seeing my own expectations being met.

What I intended Team Rosesquad to become was too much to ask for. Probably the reason is the miscommunication between myself and you guys, and the overall delivery was either lost in translation or did not raise enough support. The mission of Team Rosesquad was first given in the very first conference, where I highlighted and expanded on the rise of a collaborative and creative community. I wanted the group to be a team that worked towards a goal, not just a competitive video game squad. In the long run, I wanted to shift the focus from gaming to artistry and creativity. However, after several months of pondering, I felt that we did not have the drive to do so.

This is a decision I have been working out for the past few months, and it was not an easy situation to decide. The overall lack of contribution towards the Team Rosesquad project was noticeable to me, since I was the one running the website, improving our social outlets and assembling the conferences. There was not much feedback towards the areas we should improve, and ultimately I found our team in an identity crisis. Our group was beginning to sound more as a gaming team rather than the group I idealized it to be. There were countless times where I found ourselves in spots where some members did not know what this team was about, and I understand that. Again, part of the reason lies in my ineffective delivery of our mission and overall arching goal, and I am the first to take the blame.

So this is where the hiatus begins. I am going to take a lot of time off from the daily routine I have set in stone for the past eight months. As a result, I will no longer be holding much of Team Rosesquad’s major functions. I really didn’t want to make this a bold announcement or make it public to cause drama, but I needed a way to tell everyone the fastest way possible. It seems funny that I’m calling for a hiatus with Dungeon Fighter Online in the mix, but DFO has nothing to do with this. I'm not saying that we aren't friends anymore, but I just ask for everyone to drop any expectations of Team Rosesquad moving forward as a community, and possibly end the term.

I’ll probably join a call someday and carefully explain the situation. However, at this point, I'm stepping down as the leader of the group. If you guys want to start up the group again, use the team name, or whatever, feel free to do so. However, I will no longer be updating the website, creating new material for conferences or composing events. I cannot say that I am abandoning the entire project, but I need some time away to focus on other things, and hopefully clearing up something that has been eating my heels for a long time.
